First Grade finished these amazing tigers! They learned about monoprinting, symmetry (which built off their knowledge of monarch butterfly symmetry) and observation. We drew a tiger on the right half of construction paper, then the students used a reference picture of a tiger to determine where the colors went. They painted a little, folded the paper and rubbed. This created the monoprint. These are so beautiful.
